Fukushima Is Stable, says Japanese PM

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda declares the crippled Fukushima nuclear reactors stable in an announcement.

Dismantling the plant completely however, would take decades, according to the government.

The Fukushima reactors were severely affected in the 11 March tsunami leading to radiation leaks and widespread evacuations. More than 80,000 are said to have left their homes, with many unable to return due to high radiation levels.
