Inhumane Treatment :Student beaten for being Absent from School

Haripur: Saqib Zaman, eight-year old student of Government Primary School No-1 Khanpur was beaten in the most inhumane way by his teacher. The incident took place on Wednesday when Saqib returned to school after a day's leave. As a normal tradition, his teacher, Rizwan, started inquiring about absence from school the day before. But this was not all. As Saqib went on explaining about his sudden illness being the reason for not showing , Rizwan, started slapping , punching and then beating him, with a cane. So much so , that the little child was unable to stand.

The headmaster has confirmed that, while it was not allowed for teachers in his school to do so, corporal punishment was indeed used on the boy.
