NEW DELHI : India's Gen Z demands poll chief's resignation. The Cockroach Janata Party and student groups protest over voter-poll revision.

PM Narendra Modi faced renewed pressure last Friday as the Gen-Z led Cockroach Janta Party  [CJP] and a separate coalition of student and activist groups staged protests demanding the resignation of India's election chief over a disputed-roll revision.

Pressure on Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar intensified last month after The Indian Express reported that his two deputies had formally raised concerns at least 14 times over the previous 10 months about voter-list revisions, registration procedures and the commission's digital system.

To surmise, the demonstrations add another front to the broader political confrontation  over the voter-verification exercise.
