PARENTING * NEVER PARENTHESES : OBSERVATION PARLOUR

Parenting - not ' sharenting ' : A deeply concerning trend has taken over Asian social media :  sharenting.

This term describes the compulsive habit among parents to broadcast every milestone, tantrum and private moment of their children's lives online.

While often well-intentioned, this constant oversharing comes with a heavy psychological and ethical cost.

Children are being gifted a massive digital footprint before they have even grown up enough to understand what the internet is.

By treating a child's life as content for likes and validation, parents are unknowingly violating their children's right to privacy and consent.

Psychologically, growing up under a digital microscope can cause severe identity confusion,  performance anxiety and future embarrassment.

Our children deserve their due space to make mistakes, throw tantrums and grow up without their vulnerabilities being permanently archived on a public platform.

It is high time parents put down the camera and prioritise their children's digital safety and mental wellbeing over social media engagement just for the sake of some likes and views.

Even the financial gains, if any, are just not worth it in the long run.

 !WOW! thanks Muskan Khan.
