Doriane Pin - an F1 Academy winner, is the first woman to test a Mercedes F1 car.

Doriane Pin couldn't stop smiling. Her childhood dream had just come true. Sh'd just become the first woman to test a Mercedes Formula 1 car and the first woman to drive a Formula 1 since Aston Martin's Jessica Hawkins in 2023.

The 2025 F1 Academy champion, nicknamed the '' Pocket Rocket '' drove Mercedes' 2021 F1 car last month, completing 76 laps around the Silverstone National Circuit in England for a total of 124 miles.

'' Unbelievable '' is how she described an experience that made her realize she ''can probably do it '' at the top level. The final lap of the day was her fastest.

'' It's a big day, a historic day,'' Pin said in an interview. " I was able to show that no matter the gender and no matter the path you took before, you can drive a Formula 1 car.''

'' I'm happy that it went that way and very happy about the car,'' she said. 

'' Hopefully this will open more doors and more opportunities for my career and the sport.''

The 22-year-old used to watch motorsport on the television with her father in France. As Sebastian Vettel was winning his world titles with Red Bull from 2010 to 2013, she began dreaming of reaching the pinnacle of motorsport.
