''' NOMINATING THE CARETAKER

 GLOBAL : HONOUR '''

THE PRESIDENT

'' Mi mi,  -grandma, what then do you make of this world  >?'' asked Hanyia, the Little Red Riding Hood.

' !Man is Wolf To Man!' growled the Wolf in a fit of rare honesty.

In 2014 it's showtime. First, the students of the world will nominate a caretaker global president, to take them forward to elections on !WOW!.

This is the first time ever, that it will happen in the history of the world and mankind and Humanity.

As well as sporting shows, it will be a year of political shocks and economic shifts. The shocks,  -the world over-, will come in elections, of which there will be many in the years ahead. National polls will be held in countries with about 40% of the world population.

This very year,  for the most part, though,  the focus in these pages is firmly on the future. In pursuit of it, the student contributors will explore the oceans, venture to distant comets, tunnel underground and probe the intricate workings of RNA, the software of human biology.

Moore's law, which bought a revolution in cheap and abundant computing, is for sure, running out of steam, but there is plenty of technological inventiveness to look forward to, as !WOW! begins inventing:

From small robots and reusable rockets to electric racing cars that reach 100kph in 3 seconds. And remember, and remember that growing amount of inventiveness will come from the developing world: !WOW!-!WOW! - !WOW!

Expectedly, it was this great student, this great Yousafzai, from US, who was amongst the first to call me, when, !WOW! stood tall.

This great lad, Jawaid Khan, achieved a GPA of 4, as he topped his class in his doctorate.

These Yusafzais are some bloody warriors, I tell ya!!!

Just about the same time, this great Irish Student from Trinity, Imran Khan, graced a call. He too topped his class, setting new honours and standards ablaze all around.

And then this invincible Rabo topped her class kicking dust all over. Mark my words, that is one  great leader in the making.

Vishnu/ India never faltered as the founder Samurai. That is one formidable lad, ever determined to help build a better world and serve humanity,

WHETHER YOU'RE PLEASED with the announcement of nominating a caretaker global president for !WOW! or not, we've decided that this year is going to be a great one.

Whatever, the response, whatever the difficulties, -however the complexities, we're going to make the most of the next few months -and the year.

The reason for this unbridled optimism, is because we're bored of listening to people moan. I know it hasn't been easy for any of us,
''but the only way to change your life, and the world, is to grab it by the shoulders and shake it really, really hard.

If you're bogged down by the daily grind, mauled by your teachers and exams, or bored with your lot in life, now is the time to act.

Related to this, you can't help but notice that there's a new generation of talent bursting onto the scene that seems to play a different tune : disaffected by the ways of the world, shocked by a

The rise of corruption all around, especially by the corrupt financial system that has about wiped away the graduate job market, and perplexed the idea of traditional status symbols:

Think designer logos and American Express Centurion cards,  they have decided to forge their own path by doing it their way. And I rather,  -even all of us,  envy them.

As we ruminate and introspect, the world students, we all hope, will soon be in the throes of nominating a global president.

As the Samurai and many many students scurry around trying to convince each other, that there was more to differentiate them than the colour of their silk ties, we were looking at younger boys and girls intent on changing the world in their own inimitable way:

In his augural address in 1949 President Harry Truman said that ''more than half the people in the world are living in conditions approaching misery. So, in 2014, what do reckon is the state of the world>>?

For the first time in history, humanity possesses the knowledge and skill to relieve the sufferings of those people. !WOW! could and will play a great part in doing its honour.

That could be a lot of ifs. But making these and those things happen is not as difficult as the cynics profess. If the poorest countries are not left behind by faster-growing middle income ones; and if ''inequality'' does not widen so that:

The rich lap up all the cream of growth  -then developing countries would extreme poverty from 16% of their population now to 3% by 2030. !WOW! could play a great part. Make a great contribution.

Smart thinking, devoution, sacrifice, and all round accomplishments, -to this add smart philanthropy, and the world will swing towards greatness.

At !WOW! the pace of change in 2014 will arouse both anxiety and great excitement.

!WOW! is doing quiet nicely. Thanks to all of you! Thanks to the students of the world. Now, step forward, and nominate a great, great president, and then help us choose one.

Come then and travel up on the path to nomination and the inaugural honours. Meanwhile, the world holds its breath.

With respectful dedication to the Students, Professors, and Teachers of the world. See Ya all on !WOW! -the World Students Society Computers-Internet-Wireless:
