Iron Man 3: Second Best Box Office Debut

Hollywood superhero movie Iron Man 3, sequel of Iron Man 1 & 2, smashed to the top of the US box office by hitting massive $175.3 million. This is the second best opening weekend ever of any Hollywood movie. Movie 'The Avengers' which is currently holding the top position in opening weekend, earned $207.4 million when it opened a year ago in 2012.

 In second place for this weekend's box office was action comedy "Pain & Gain" with $7.6 million in ticket sales. At the third, "42" a biopic about trailblazing black baseball star Jackie Robinson, which made $6.2 million. The fourth spot, with $5.8 million, went to "Oblivion" of Tom Cruise, followed by "The Croods", a stone-age cartoon, in fifth, with $4.2 million.
