Sydney student protest

Thousands of protesters marched down Sydney's Broadway today as part of a national campaign against axing compulsory student unionism. Before up to 4000 people joined the rally in Sydney, students from universities across the city gathered on campus.

Five protesters were arrested and reports police were spat at during the first day of demonstrations on Tuesday.
