University of Ottawa celebrates life of a pioneer
A funeral service was held on the University of Ottawa campus today for Father Roger Guindon, a priest credited with being a pioneer at the school.
Guindon was president of the university for 20 years, from the mid-1960s to the mid-80s. He's credited with transforming the post-secondary institution from its origins as a small, private university to the secular, publicy-funded one it is today.
He died a week ago, at the age of 92.
