Sasha & Malia Obama Were The Style Icons Of Election Night! See Their First Daughter Fashion

At Grazia we are huuuuge fans of Michelle Obama's First Lady style. We love everything from the Michael Kors dress she wore on election night to her extensive collection of Jason Wu gowns. So obviously we thought she would be the clear winner in the fashion stakes on election night this week but, in fact, her daughters looked just as polished as MObama.

Between the ages of 11 and 14, we experimented with dodgy dungarees, coloured mascara and glittery lipgloss. As for Sasha and Malia Obama, they looked elegant AND fun in their colourful skirts on Monday night. Sasha wore a green A-Line skirt by New York designer Chris Benz while Malia chose a similar skirt in blue teamed with a hot pink skinny belt. Even Cathy Horyn thought the girls stole the sartorial show. The New York Times fashion critic took to Twitter to applaud their style, saying: 'The Obama girls might be the fashion news tonight -- full skirts, bright colour, cute'. Talk about a triumph.

What's more, the pair have already taken a due from K-Middy with their outfit recycling and clothes sharing ways. The sisters clearly love sharing (or raiding) each others' wardrobes as Sasha's Chris Benz skirt was worn by Malia back in 2011 for a White House State dinner to meet the President of China.So it's official: the sisters are growing into diddy fashion icons before our very eyes. But how to become a mini style-bama? Malia and Sash are ALL about colour-blocking, just like their mom, and they're also big fans of colour-popping skinny patent belts and pretty ballerina flats. Cute, cute, cuteness. And both girls are developing their own sense of style too - see how they went matchy-matchy with their parents on election night four years ago (cringe) compared to this week's celebrations when they donned colours of their own choice? And Sasha added a string of vibrant necklaces for an extra touch of snaz? In fact, the tweens are so savvy, they dish out style advice to the president himself. Us Weekly reported they often tease Barack about wearing a Blackberry in a holster connected to his belt. You sort him out, girls!
