"A GREATNESS FOR ALL SEASONS!"

It bears repeating ; and I will never tire of repeating : Extreme poverty is the best breeding ground on mother earth for disease, instability and terrorism! And injustice is truly the only weapon of mass destruction!!

If the world heeds this, the students will succeed in building a better world. If not, the world will enter a death spiral! Few people in the world understood that one of America's great Presidents, Ronald Reagan, was basically a spiritual person. Do read up his hand written diaries. The Third Term for President Bill Clinton is in fact the dawning of a different sort of post Presidency. The CHAI model points towards a new system of relationships that brings together governments, nonprofit groups, investors, donors, and international organizations. Clinton is seeking ways to leverage the money and power of the states with the flexibility and skills of the NGOs. And he sees the enthusiastic response to the launch of the global initiative as a signal that the world in which he operates is ready for a new kind of cooperation, and perhaps is ready for global leadership.

Although he knows that nobody else wields that kind of influence, he is too politically astute to sake any explicit claims for himself. Back in Chappaqua, he speaks in more modest terms, but his voice is emphatic.

"This movement has grown so rapidly and there's so many people doing it, and it's so entrepreneurial that I think it would profit from better coordination, more information sharing, and combining efforts. Here's no association of NGOs, there is United Nations of NGOs, and there is no coordination . I think that since so much money is going out there, and since on the whole it is cost efficient, I think that it would be beneficial if we all worked together more."

Before CGI ended he agreed to continue sponsoring the meetings annually for a decade to come."It's kind of an arbitrary figure, but I figured that if we could do this for ten years, we would have a real significant body of achievements to show what we had done. And I thought there would be a reasonable chance I would survive ten years and be alert and cognizant. Hopefully I won't be in a coffin by then."

As clear thoughts on the end of road enter his mind, he turns to philosophy to help explain things. Our near human forefathers were making tools two million years ago, he said. People have been walking around as Homo Sapiens for 130,000 years. It's just the 15,000 years since the big ice age moved away and enabled people to move across the earth. So if we had a huge cataclysmic event from the last Ice Age, which is the blink of an eye in the life of a planet, - or the life of a humanity on the planet.
