Chile's new university admission rule not receiving easy acceptance

University leaders in Chile have introduced considering 'class rankings' for university admissions, along with PSU system, the standardized entrance exam. The new rule is facing criticism mainly because it will put first-ranking students from public and private schools on equal terms.

Some private schools and high-scoring PSU students, however, have voiced concern that the new class rankings will hurt their standings in the admissions process.

“This is not a ranking by grades — it is a bonus,” University directors defend the procedure.
