A Lottery-winning Waitress Won’t Quit Day Job

Alexandra Chaar, a waitress at a Mexican eatery in Clearwater, Florida, won $1 million lottery prize. But she is not ready to quit her job claiming that she loves her workplace.

Chaar told lottery officials she just felt lucky. It is a good thing she acted on that feeling.
She received her prize in a one-time lump sum dispersal, netting her $700,000. A sum like that often provides the means for big lifestyle changes such as a new car, home or vacations. Chaar doesn’t appear to be making many changes at all. Her life will continue pretty much as it had prior to winning the instant lottery prize.

In addition to working for tips as a waitress, Chaar maintains a straight A average at St. Petersburg College. She plans to use the money to help pay for college. In the meantime, regular customers and new ones can still find her waiting tables and doing a job she loves.
