Students Complain of Examination System

Engineering Students of Pakistan have complained of the poor examination and grading system prevailing in the country. Even students of the top-ranked University, NUST, are unhappy with it and demand that
(1) Examinations be made more problem-based and conceptual
(2) Proper marking schemes be set and implemented through out the country, like the ones Cambridge University uses for its O/A level Examinations.

Final Year Students have complained that they have spent three years filling out papers that require mugging and reproducing stuff written in books and power point slides. "We want to learn more on practical situations rather than cramming long mathematical derivations or notes on "types of societies in world". Besides , every teacher marks according to his own style, getting unfair most of the time", they say.Their claim is that Proper marking schemes, available to all students, should help.
