Dubai, November 15: Sri Lanka beat Pakistan in a thrilling 2nd one-day-international match to level the series.
Srilanka gave a target of 236 runs after Saeed Ajmal (3-61) and Shahid Afridi (2-35) devastating spin bowling. Upul Tharanga (77) and Mahela Jaywawardene (50) put their effort while the score boosted in the last over when Ajmal conceived 17-runs.
After early fall of first three wickets in just four overs, Pakistan struggled hard with Umar Akmal scoring 91-runs. Pakistan's fight-back lost its potency as Akmal and Sarfraz Ahmed, constructing a partnership of 62 runs, fell on consecutive balls. Afridi sparked a final hope but he was run-out for 29.
Lasith Malinga (3-36) played the decisive role, taking two early wickets, and was named the Man of the Match.
The 3rd one-day-international will be played on 18th November.
