Misbah guides Pakistan to the victory

Abu Dhabi, November 25: Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in the lone T-20 international at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Stadium, on Friday. Earlier Pakistan clinched the Test series 1-0 and the Odi series 4-1.

Batting first, Sri Lanka started well looking for a big target but Aizaz Cheema (4-30) along with the spinners restricted Sri Lanka to 141 all-out. Dinesh Chandimal hit a maiden half-century but their last seven wickets fell for just 22 runs .

Chasing a target of 142 runs Pakistan suffered the early loss, struggling at 44-3. Misbah-ul-Haq played a captain innings of 48 runs (not-out) following a calm innings from Asad Shafiq (33) that guided Pakistan to the victory.

Shahid Afridi (22) hit 14 runs to Dilhara Fernando in the second-last over, when 23 runs were needed from the last 12 deliveries. In the last over Pakistan required 9 runs before Angelo Mathews overthrow raced to the boundary before Shoaib Malik scored the winning run.
