South Sudan gets marked on Google maps

What seems to be a response to an online campaign started by a Washington-based South Sudanese journalist, Google has given South Sudan its rightful place on its maps. The country achieved independence this July but was still missing from various websites.
Journalist John Tanzu Mabusu launched an online petition demanding the marking of the newly independent nation, which got hundreds of backers calling for South Sudan to be recognized by online mapping services.
