A new class of poor

Rawalpindi: Poverty in the city is forcing people to disown their children to government care. Child Welfare and Protection Bureau had sad stories to share, one of these being about a taxi driver, Mohammad Kamran who abandoned his 10 year old son, Abu Bakar. The child cried desperately to stick to his father but the father requested the Bureau to take his son to save him from dying of hunger. The Bureau agreed to take the child after confirmation of the told conditions at his home. Many helpless families have approached the bureau in the last month. The situation is yet expected to worsen.
