SANTIAGO: While President Sebastian Pinera remains inflexible, Camilla Vallejo, continues to speak for the rights of the students forcing the government into talks with the former. Vallejo, a University of Chile student, has become the rallying point of the movement which started peacefully five months ago but later turned into a violent clash between the police and the protestors.
The students, calling it an under-funded and a class-restricted education system, demand a completely state-controlled system, where standardized education is free for all.
