SANTIAGO: As students continued their protests for a just education system in Chile after talks with the government failed, the police used tear gas and water cannons forcing the former to retreat. The clashes led to over a hundred arrests with up to thirty injured including 25 officers. Each side accuses the other of inflexible behaviour with President Pinera stating that "nothing in life is free" and the students demanding free quality eduaction for all.
